Ever since my first ever “Colour Theory” class at college and learning about the way that different colours vibrate when placed close together I’ve been fascinated with the way colours interact. When decorating for my clients (and for myself, obviously), colours and the way that they behave is a serious consideration and really does make or break a space.
I notice different colour trends in my own space that are unintentional and unexpected. I’ve always thought of myself as a ‘cool’ colour lover as I generally gravitate towards blues and greens and greys. However, lately I’ve found myself coveting hot pinks, yellow and… even oranges which believe me is a total surprise to this interior designer.
I’m celebrating all things colour today and I’m working my way through my current favourite colour combos, this week I’m highlighting:
NAVY & PINK
(like seriously, how could I not start with this one?)
Navy blue & magenta are a classic “Vibrating colour combination”. Many “colour theory experts (sarcastic tone)” consider this combo to be on the no-list for colours that should be seen together. Well, I’m calling them out on it because it’s clear as day that navy & pink are a match made in heaven and are going to go on and have beautiful navy & pink babies and live happily forever after in their navy & pink house.
Until next time! xx
