Artist Highlight: Jess Olding

Ugh okay obviously I don’t need to buy any more art for my apartment..

But that doesn’t mean I can’t admire things from afar, right?

One thing (or person) that I’ve been admiring from afar for a little while now is Jess Olding. Jess is an Australian still life painter who’s work is down right lust-worthy. Australian native flowers are one of her more frequent subjects which absolutely appeals to the likes of me.

There’s something slightly vintage about the feeling of her paintings, making them feel like they always existed. This vintage-feel is also probably something to do with the framing that she pictures her artworks in. I love, love, love this quality in artwork, being a huge believer in purchasing original artwork that will stay relevant for as long as possible!

After jumping onto Jess’ website, I also learned that she chooses paints and materials with low-toxicity which is something I’ve never thought of but is a fantastic element of her collection.

I think I’d struggle to purchase one of her works because everything I see that she’s done is so, so lovely (I’ll probably struggle harder trying NOT to buy one!). Lucky for me, Jess has recently teamed up with East Cost Wall Art (link here) selling a selection of prints which are just beautiful. You’ll find more info on Jess Olding at her website here.

Good luck not buying everything she’s ever painted!

Until next time xx
